Get cosy with these autumnal homeware finds

Written by Sophie Clemson

How is it September already?! The temperature has definitely dropped, the sun is lower in the sky and the nights are getting darker. It feels like it is time to get the throws back out and get all cosy again at home. I love the start of a new season, to see all of the wonderful new and beautiful homeware coming into the shops. I’ve noticed lots of reds this autumn, not just in homeware but fashion too. I think it's definitely going to be big this season along with other rich colours like plum and burgundy that will make your home feel cosy. On my look out for all things autumnal, I wanted to share my favourite pieces with you.

Transitional rattan floor lamp

Cult Furniture Francia Floor Lamp

The Francia floor lamp is a gorgeous design from Cult Furniture. I love the rattan shade paired with the black base. It’s a way to bring in some natural texture to your room. Adding layers of soft lighting will create a warm and cosy atmosphere in your room. If you love a transitional interior style, this floor lamp will probably be making its way into your basket.

Cosy autumn throw blanket

Sweetpea & Willow Bilston Throw

What’s better than chilling on the sofa and covering yourself in a cosy throw while watching a Netflix series on an autumn day? The Bilston throw from Sweetpea and Willow would be a gorgeous throw to do just that! Simply drape the throw over the arm of your sofa to add texture and to bring the cosy vibes.

Terracotta rust battery LED table lamp

Abigail Ahern Julio LED lamp

I’m a big fan of LED lamps, as you can place them anywhere! You don’t have to think about plug sockets or cables. As this lamp is on the smaller side, I would use it on shelving to group with other accessories. It would help to add a layer of lighting to your shelves and be a decorative piece too. There are a couple of colour options, but this is my favourite for an autumnal colour palette.

Pecan rust terracotta geometric cushion

Ivy Grey Interiors Pecan Thalia Geometric Cushion

Layering up the soft furnishings is one way to make your room feel cosy. I love the rich terracotta colour of this cushion and the raw cotton fringed trim. Pair it with other earthy toned cushions for a cosy look. This cushion is also a great price as it includes the feather filled insert. I’m pretty sure this cushion will make its way to my sofa soon.

Red scalloped decorative tray

John Lewis Bubble Lacquer Tray

If you're looking to add some red to your room but are unsure how, this tray would be perfect to spruce up your coffee table or footstool. The rich red will add warmth, and the decorative scallop detail will add interest. You could use this as a tray for drinks or style it with a vase and candle.

Autumnal floral printed bedspread

West Elm Gemma Reversible Print Mix Bedspread & Pillowcases

The Gemma bedspread from West Elm is perfect if you’re wanting to give your bedding an update and make it feel cosy for the autumn evenings. It’s also reversible, so it feels like you’re getting two for the price of one!

Camel brown traditional armchair

Daals Daphnis Camel Velvet Sofa, 1 Seater

If you’re updating your living room or looking for a new armchair to accompany your sofa, the Daphnis in camel velvet from Daals is a cosy, sumptuous option. The camel fabric is a rich and inviting colour that makes you want to curl up with a cuppa and a book.

Floral block print rug

Zara Home Floral Print Block Rug

At The Living House we do love a rug, and when I discovered this beautiful floral print one from Zara Home, I was instantly wondering where I could use this in my own home. The colours are gorgeous and have an autumnal vibe. There are lots of colours you can pull out from this rug and use as accents throughout the room, from rich ochre to teal to neutrals and reds.
